Sourced from a tiny special parcel of 80-90 year old vines, this second release Carignan is a real treat! Large pudding stones cover the vineyard floor, gently warming the fruit, ensuring full ripeness and flavours. A combination of hand picking, low yields, minimal traditional winemaking and finally 12 months in American and French oak produce this wine of fantastic concentration. Rich brick red, the aromas of ripe summer pudding berry fruits and subtle vanilla intensify on the palate, with smooth velvety tannins on the long complex finish. We must admit too, we rather enjoy it with some cheese.
