Louis Vavasour and his family have been growing and making wine in Marlborough’s Awatere Valley since the late 19080’s. This wine is from their small appellation in this now famous wine growing region. This wine has been made using low yield, high quality techniques to create a wine a cut above the normal New Zealand Sauvingon Blanc and we agree it’s fantastic.
The 2009 Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc has been made exclusively from grapes grown and hand harvested from their ‘Single Vineyard’ in the Awatere Valley, 117 meters above sae level. The wine shows wonderful zesty aromas and a rich complexity from the perfect fruit used from the harvest, which leaves a long refreshing yet silky finish of distinction.
